Big pedal power problems on pedal board, please help!

Hi guys, I really hope this isn't what I think it is but this pains me...

I got to rehearsal today and I plug my adapter into my effects. Basically, Micro Q-Tron practically won't power on (has battery in it and that works fine, but then when power adapter gets plugged in the light pulses on momentarily then goes out), Boss OC-2 now has oddly a slightly dim light (this might be my imagination, but I swear it was a little brighter than that before)...and my LS-2 wasn't functioning at all but strangely that seems to be working properly now.

The pedals are powered using a power adapter into the LS-2 and daisy chains into the others - I have not sound tested them yet but will do tomorrow, however the lights thing is obviously very distressing. The Micro Q Tron I would be a little annoyed about but I could save up for another one, LS2 same (I love that pedal so much though) the OC-2 however was a gift from my girlfriend quite a while ago and would be bloody sore if that either gave way or I had to stop using it (plus they are pretty much strictly eBay purchases now in lieu of OC-3).

Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated - tried a different power adapter, tried different wall warts, even had the opportunity to try different power in different house but all the same conclusion. Huge thanks!!

But wait, did you try powering the pedals individually rather than in the daisy chain? And have you added anything new into the chain since the last time it all worked?

Has this set-up ever worked or is this the first time you're trying this?

Power each effect on it's own, in turn, just to see if they're working.

The micro-qtron is the odd one out here - remove it and see if the two boss pedals work together.

I did try individually powering the pedals, yes, and the same behavior is exhibited on each one. I also tried two different power adaptors, one my girlfriends and the other my singer's, and both did the same thing... and in response to the second question, I've used this setup about nearly ten times in a row as I bought the pedal board about seven or eight weeks ago.

Ok, so to be clear, the LS-2 is working now. The OC-2 works but has a dim LED. And the Qtron is dead and unresponsive. Right?

With the OC-2, a dim LED can occur because early Boss pedals were designed to work with an UNregulated power supply which actually output 12V (not 9V). This is resolved, funnily enough, by connecting it with a daisy chain to other pedals. Strange, but true. If the LED is still dim, but the pedal is working fine, then I'm inclined to think it is your imagination!

The Qtron working on batteries is the curious thing about your situation. One thing that troubles me is your comment about not having "sound tested" them. So what exactly was happening with the sound on the day you had the troubles?

another thing to try:

power up the ls-2 on itīs own, without the daisy chain. once it works, connect the other pedals to it with the daisy chain.

Thanks for both of those comments - well when I took the pedal board to rehearsal niftydog, it was one of those situations where because everything was daisychained and the LS-2 was being an ass I didn't really have enough time to start trying different configurations so I just put it to the side. I will definitely sound test it today however and report what happens.

Big thank you for the suggestion as well dubsymmetry, will also try that!
