BJFE 3BOD - Retired Jan. 2010!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Just saw this on the BJFE.org forum. Looks like the beloved 3BOD is now out of production.

Here's what it said:

Quote:
BlueBerry Bass Overdrive (3BOD) - An overdrive for basses (released 21st December 2001, retired January 2010). This is also sometimes listed as the BBBOD. The backplate artwork is a bowl of blueberries (some early ones have a full bear holding a basket full of blueberries).
And for those of you interested in checking out the source, here is the link:

Smoke 'em if you got 'em boys!

The Mad Professor version just came out didn't it? Must be he's not going to make any more himself and focus on g*#t@r pedals instead?

As far as I can tell, the MP Bass OD is not available yet. Can't find anything more than discussions about it possibly being available this year.

Generally, when Bjorn retires a pedal its because the specific parts he likes to use in a pedal are no longer available.

Well, I have about 10 days before classes resume, so I better get cranking on that schematic again.

OK, so now I get the story. Happy to hear that there is still hope for me to have one.

I have officially fallen off the GAS wagon. Sobriety was most boring.....

I've been in communication with Harri Koski at Mad Professor and he has confirmed that they are working on a Mad Prof version of the 3BOD.

He said that "...our next pedal will be an updated version of BJF BBBOD, with more gain available." and "First production run will be 500 pedals (5 times more what Bjorn can make in 5 years). The proto is ready now and after some heavy testing and fine-tuning we are ready for production."

Toward the end of last Feb he emailed that the prototype is now being tested but that it will take few more months before the pedal goes into production.

So I told my wife that one of my pedals was now super collectible and she has new found respect for my little habit.

FYI...I just saw one listed in the classifieds here on TB. No, I'm not the seller.
