as of late I have been looking into overdrives and fuzzes alot more and when I came across clips I really like the sound. But my big question is: is it worth the fairly hefty price tag?
And also how good are these in a band situation?

Thanks
Dan

This is all I've heard:

is it worth the fairly hefty price tag?
Yes.

how good are these in a band situation?
Great.

Now, are you willing to spend the money?

I think the hard part is finding one, or waiting for one. Is it worth the $ ? That's subjective. Does it work with a band? I think that would depend what the band was doing.
I seriously lucked into mine. I traded a used compulator + $. It was very worth it. It cuts through fine in my trio and it has the most amazing tone and response. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I was on the verge of buying something much more affordable when it came along. I wouldn't have spent the $ or had the patience to wait once I'd made up my mind.

I had my doubts, but I did not regret the price one bit. As Swift said, whether it works in a band depends on the band- but if the band's sound would normally involve either rocking or rolling, then yes it will work just fine.

I want to try one out sometime but I don't feel like spending that much (and waiting for one?)

I'd buy one even if cost me twice its price.

Actually, I was using it last night playing folk music. I was using the piezo on a fretless synapse with the volume about 1/2 way and the Blueberry's gain all the way down. It made for a nice warm sound that worked great with acoustic guitar.

The Blue Berry was designed to make modern, clean amps sound like old, gooey amps. If that is a requirement of yours, they are worth it. Since I only like that vintage tone every so often, and prefer it with a controllable volume level if at all possible, it is perfect for my needs. If I wanted that sound all the time, I'd put that money toward an SVT/Sunn/Orange/Whatever stack instead.

Don't have to wait too long if you're willing to pay about $305.00 US plus shipping.

yeah that's where I saw it.
Once I have the money I might just do it, I suppose if I don't like it I can always sell it here on TB

No. You'd have to practically destroy one to get a good look inside. Black goop ahoy.

Bummer.

I'd still like to see gut shots if anyone has them.

Total pedal newb here. I just waded through a bunch of the sound clips, and think this may be the pedal I'm looking for. Is there a website for BFJE? How does one go about finding/ordering one (other than the place in Finland...)

A gut shot would just be a picture of a rectangular blob of black rubber. Now, as it happens I did my damnedest to carve away the rubber, but I have temporarily given up on drawing out a schemo because so many parts have their identifier marks sanded off, and the parts are just soldered together in clumps on some perf, not cleanly organized on a tidy board with traces. And it is literally impossible to get all of the rubber off the parts.

I am curious too, obviously, but FWIW it's really tacky to "expect" to be handed his design for free.

He has a forum, Google "BJFE forum", and they do have a FS classifieds section, however I haven't seen anyone selling the Blueberry there yet, and he doesn't sell direct off his website, and he's in Sweden anyway. You pretty much have to watch the TB classifieds like a hawk, as they do show up there once in a little while; or order from the place in Finland.
