Hey all,
Recently I was just about to dive into purchasing a blueberry when I just found these bass od boxes by Dave Hall Amps. They have more than one channel and claim to be able to do overdrive as well as high gain distortion and they are even cheaper then the blueberry. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these two pedals or just the DHA. I am mainly looking for zero low end loss and nice overdrive growl. But if the DHA can do nice growl overdrive and distortion then someone please inform me. I found soundclips on the DHA website, but they are almost all high gain soundlcips which is the factor im not tooo interested in
ANy help would be appreciated!

I've ordered a VT2 Dual Custom in the hope it can sound like a blueberry also. Should be here in a week or two! |

I went for the expensive one cos it had the extra tube for more distortion plus an EQ. The VT1 standard might be fine for you though if you only want a little bit of growl, also try the hematoma, cream pie and the voodoo lab sparkle drive (these were my other options before plumping for the DHA). My first pedal on the quest for overdrive heaven was a Humphrey modded Bad Monkey, but it wasn't the sound I was looking for, so I reckon I'm gonna sell it soon to finance a compressor!

I have not heard very many OVERDRIVE clips of the DHA but more distortion ones which I am not too interested in
The only reason I am looking at this DHA is because of the Dual channel capability

Andrew | ahhhh ok gotcha.. i forgot who it was.. but i think i only seen one person here with the dual channel one. i can save though.. i really liked driving my vt-1 with another distortion unit(i used a chrome xxl) and it sounded pretty sweet. takes away any buzzy high end tones and warms them up... i really wished i wasnt such a dumbass and packed my xxl for shipping before i recorded clips.. |

well seeing as I am a neat freak I see that Dave Hall has offered rack mount units of these pedals on ebay although I cannot view them. Does anyone know if hes still doing this?

I don't know anything about the DHA box. I've used the Hematoma, and like it a lot for aggressive meltdown. I've not used the Blueberry, but heard it once on a shared bill (loved it during the bassist's soundcheck; but because the mix had two guitars masking the bass, it didn't really break through as anything spectacular during the set--not the pedal's fault, though). |

Hey Dave,
I have checked your site but I have not seen aything about racks or custom. I only saw it on an old thread posted here somewhere
The reason I am looking into your distortion is to give me a nice tubey OD like a big smooth grunty growl if you know what I mean. Most of the sound clips are more buzzsaw like distortion though. Does anyone have any clips of it in a more tame sounding setting?

cool,
Any soundclips anyone?
To my ears the blueberry still sounds more what I amlooking for but that is only because I have not heard nice OD clips of the DHA
