Black russian big muff -> Colorsound tone bender

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I saw this mod-guide being done on a USA big muff, but I would really like to see how it is done on the black russian model?

I am talking about this link: How-To: USA Big Muff to Colorsound Tone Bender conversion

Speak up.

I think that both versions of the big muff have the same circuit board (altough i maybe wrong here), with just different valued caps and possibly some of the resistors as well. You could possibly convert you Russian to a USA one, then do the Tone bender mod.

Yay... they dont share the same circuit board, if you scroll down in this link you will see that the board of the russian model is slightly different from the one in the mod-guide mentioned before.

Luckily, I am in posession of a very good mate who now wants to help build me this pedal from scratch, and with true bypass in it.

But if you are in posession of diagrams that shows how the mod is done on the russian muff, and/or how the true bypass mod is done, then post them here

It can be done, you just have to work out where all the parts are on the Russian board. I haven't done this since I only have an older green Russian pedal which is probably different from the black ones.
