BLE100 and 9V wall warts.

Just picked up a 'ringer BLE100 to mess about with and hooked it up powered with a wall wart and neither the "Ratio" not "Threshold' knobs were doing anything . I tried it on battery and it was fine - WTeF? I measured the wall wart under load and it was >15 volts . I tried two others and they were both >12 volts. One of them is a "universal" supply that is switchable and on 6V it is putting out 8.8V so I went with that and the pedal works fine. Two of these warts are "real" branded pedal supplies - I'm surprised they are that far off even if they are unregulated. Maybe the 'ringer pedal doesn't draw enough? Anybody else find a pedal that won't run right off a generic pedal wart? To be fair to the 'ringer it does specify:
Power Supply: 9V, 100mA DC regulated

In any case I ordered up a regulated wart . #$%^ thing costs almost as much as the pedal though .

Yeah, for everything except the oldest "ACA" labeled Boss pedals, it's a mistake to bother with an unregulated supply. It really makes a huge difference.
