Sure, it's using a transistor as a buffer, with only the bare minimum of parts to make it work. Probably a good place to start learning how to solder.

I think im gonna hook it up to jacks and make it a full-blown blender pedal

I have a question, can i just attach jacks to the end of the effect out and effect in? that would work right?

Qs about building effects are much better directed at the denizens of diystompboxes.com.

I think opamps make better buffers, and these can be made with the same number of parts as the simple blender above. A good place to start is here:

A J201 can also be used for the simple blender. I built a blender with an invert switch and eq using just a tl074 and a couple caps / resistors. Easy as pie.

I like this blender.

But it's more complicated.

For the in and out jacks that you mentioned above, you need to attach the tips to the points shown on the drawing, and the sleeve to the ground.

I like Preston @ Wounded Paw's Blender. You can get a kit for it, including instructions, for $65 + S&H. Worth it.
