blowtorch power issue

Sign in to disble this ad
hey, I just got a few battery adapters for my onespot to power my blowtorch, the problem is it wont work with both of them connected at the same time, and for some reason it kills any other pedal on the one spot chain

i tried doing a battery and a adapter and it works fine.

any ideas on why this might have happened or any solutions (other than just getting a seperate adapter which i dont want to do as my powerstrip is filled as it is.)

thanks!

Probably a grounding problem, the grounds of each battery might need to be isolated from each other. There's no way to do this with a 1spot, so yea, you'll have to buy another adapter, unless you like the way the pedal sounds at 9v. Just a guess though.

I'd just get the 18v adapter and be done with it. How many other pedals do you run? Another option would be something like a DC Brick, which can power 3-18v pedals along with 7-9v pedals.

Wait, so you're trying to get 18V from a single 9V power supply by using battery clip adapters? It ain't gonna happen - physically impossible. You're essentially shorting the output, which would cause the power supply to shut down.
