Anyone tried one of these? I currently use the MXR m-80 and enjoy it very much but I'm looking for something thats a little less popular and more harsh sounding. If it really sounds like a Sunn model T on fire then I'm pretty sure this is the pedal for me, but I'm just curious if there's anyone out their who has one of these or knows someone who does.
Check it out for yourself: http://www.atomicmusiconline.com/bluebeard.asp
Thanks
Chris

You can buy the kit from General Guitar Gadgets and build it yourself, or you can get Ryan from Fuzzrocious Pedals to build and paint you one as a 'Green Stache', Ryan's also a TB member.
Heres the Fuzzrocious myspace: http://www.myspace.com/fuzzrociouspedals
ryans also doing a sweet mod with a photo-sensitive eye which looks pretty awesome.
I got my Green Stache (GGG Tuned Big Muff) off ryan the other day and i cant wait to try it in the band, its sounding sick.

To the OP, do a search...read up...the general consesus is that it's a cool muff, but it's about 50/50 on the 1 year plus wait time. If you can't wait that long for something as 'simple' as a muff, look elsewhere! Just be prepared to s a brick while you wait for Sonny to respond to your emails once your $ has been PayPal'd. |

Ah well. |

Finally moved my VTbass to the END of my effects chain and its really bringing a great brightness to the Green Stache, even with the tone on minimum (which is where i want it for the moment)
it doesnt just crush bones, it eats them

| | | | I have a Bluebeard, love it by itself, love it blended with my clean signal, love it through my Sansamp BDDI (I wish I had the VT Bass to run it through). I don't get to use it much - fuzzed bass is only useful in my current band for *maybe* two songs.
I apparently had an easier time than many getting ahold of Sonny. I e-mailed him, he sent info about availability (in about 1-2 weeks after I sent my message), along with his cell phone. He and I ended up chatting a good bit while I waited (he had a batch coming in - they failed and he had to get them redone), and I had it without TOO much of a hassle.
I appears I am in a small minority. With or without running it through the Sansamp, it is righteously βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦÏИĞ®.

I talked to one of guys working there and he said that they're not being made right now. Sorry, the conversation was around Thanksgiving so I don't remember the time table for production restart or the reason why it stopped. |

it doesnt just crush bones, it eats them | I'd LOVE to hear soundclips of the stache with the VT bass to hear what the combo sounds like!!! Don't people usually use the VT bass to fatten/warm up the sound?
Hella curious!!!
<--- Thread hijack. Sorry!

<--- Thread hijack. Sorry! | I can only speak for myself, but I use it to generally thicken the sound and add some subdued grit. I generally play with a pretty bright, mildly scooped sound, and the bass VT works PERFECTLY for me. I use the Big Muff model on my Digitech EX-7 occasionally through the Bass VT, and it adds some nice definition and texture to an otherwise smooth wall of sound. |

I emailed him about the pedal Jan 8th and gave him my phone number. 20 days later I get a call from a strange area code and behold it is the man himself, Sonny. We ended up talking for a while about gear, bands, shows etc.. and let me just say he is a way cool guy. I immediately sent him the money and I should have mine by friday. I'm stoked.
