BMP Mod / Parts: Questions & Neat Discovery

Sign in to disble this ad
Once I finish my current project, I'm planning on modding my USA re-issue BMP. However, I have a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone know of any retailers (a quick google search didn't turn up much, nor did EHX's site) selling replacement knobs for recent USA BMPs, or a decent analog of them (smooth, round, black plastic, w/ a simple white indicator)?

2. For those who've tinkered with them before (esp. the USA re-issues), any tips for removing the knobs without causing too much damage? They don't have screws, and a quick pull-test didn't do much, either.

I suppose I could just pull harder, or wrap some string around the shafts and pull up, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask...

Now, on a neat note, upon opening it, I noticed that not only is mine already wired for true bypass, but it looks as if the in and out caps are already 1uf. I was under the impression that I'd find the opposite upon opening it.

I did buy it used, but a) there was no mention of any mods , and b) if someone did mod it, they did an impeccable job. It looks clean & perfect.

Either way, cool. Two less things for me to bother with.
