I got my Micro Synthesizer modded for expression pedal use (well, functioning, but not completed yet). Here's a quick clip.

That sounds AWESOME.

Wish I had mine still, just for this mod!

What parameter(s) is that controlling?

Oh my god, I want one!

It's controlling the stop frequency right?

Yes, it's controlling the stop frequency.

This is so freaking cool, I am without words. How hard was this mod? Would you consider writing some sort of guide on it? What kind of expression pedal did you use?

That is sweet. Are you running it with a slight delay?

I'd be interested in hearing more about how you did the mod too.

I think he talked about it in the other 'Bass Micro Synth with expression pedal mod' thread a couple days ago, I think it's about 2-3 pages back now.

Yeah, we discussed it briefly a few pages ago.

The echo on the first part was the tape echo plugin in Logic Pro.

The expression pedal I used was a cheapo plastic Fatar pedal, similar to the ones Moog used to use, but I had to change out the pot from the stock 50K to a 500K. An off the shelf stock expression pedal probably won't work without modification.

It's not really a very involved mod, but the BMS is just difficult to work on because there's so much stuff crammed in there. Once I get it all done, I'll maybe show some photos and what I did.

That's really cool. There are so many sliders on that thing, it would be cool if you could put some kind of switch to change the one the pedal expresses (?).

Conceivably you could make any of them expression controlled. I don't think most of them would be very useful though.

Done, I think. I had to make a couple of small modifications to my original plan. I also put a switch at the front of the expression pedal that switches its pot in and out, effectively bypassing it or turning it off without having to remove the cable from the jack on the MS. I'm off work for the rest of the year so I'll try to do some kind of illustration or write up about how to do the mod.

Very cool. I might have to try this. I'd hate to break my BMS.

Hey Sonic

You dirty dog you! Sounds kickass!

Ha, funny, when I woke up this morning I decided that instead of coming to work on time I'd crack my BMS open and get a look at the landscape inside.

It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be from your description. I need to get some parts, and then like you over my xmas break I'll get it going.

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice! I like it!

Mike Matthews, are you reading this? Reissue the BMS with an expression pedal jack, and in a smaller enclosure... we'll all love you for it!
