BMS has to "Warm-up"

Sign in to disble this ad
Did a couple of searches and only came one applicable result.

Does anyone have a BMS that has to warm up before it starts to work?

I bought a used one of TB, and I have to have it plugged in and on for a few minutes before I get any sound out of it. Anybody have any experience with this? Do you think it will get any worse?

Shouldn't have to warm up, but they can be fickle. Mine was doing something fruity at a jam yesterday, but it came good.

might wanna send that back in for repair or if you're under warranty, see if you can get a replacement.

the minute i fire mine up, it's working.

Unfortunately, It's used and not under warranty.

But maybe I'll give EHX a try.

Sounds like a bad solder joint...

...or otherwise known as a "cold" joint, as in, wasn't heated all the way thru.

Happens, and if it's no covered under warranty I would just look for any solder joint that doesn't look great and retouch them. Or, just do all of them. Can be easier than trying to judge what's bad or good.

I once had a sweet 20 inch monitor that would work when cold but shorted out when it warmed up. I spent a half day touching all the solder joints (HUNDREDS OF THEM) and it worked perfectly for several years after.
