A "Boomerang" in 1969?

What's an effect called a Boomerang available in 1969 (not the current loop pedal we all know)?

I just picked up a great album by Melvin Jackson called Funky Skull (suggested to me by another TB'er). It's recorded in 1969, and he's listed as playing his upright bass through:

Maestro G-2 filter box, and Echo-Plex, and a Boomerang.

Any ideas?

I had an original Maestro Boomerang wah-wah pedal way back when I was a wee teen. Cool box; not as iconic sounding as a CryBaby, but that's probably what made it more appropriate for bass.

Actually I believe the Boomerang is the original "Shaft" Sound wah. One of the iconic wahs in my book. It's a lot different than your run of the mill wah circuit.

I think Tommi Iommi from Black Sabbath used one back in the day. There's a company called Chigago Iron that is supposed to make a really nice replica, but I remember it being on the pricey side.

That's the Tychobrahe Parapedal. The Boomerang is a totally different pedal.
