Bootsy Collins fuzz pedal

I am in the market for a fuzz pedal. Ive tried a big muff, but it sounds too harsh for what I'm looking for. The best way to describe what I'm looking for is the sound in the song Flash Light by Parliament, if you are familiar with it. Can someone suggest something that sounds like that?

ima go with the zvex wooly mammoth, but youd get even closer using the fuzz in line with an envelope filter such as the 3leaf audio groove regulator or EHX qtron, and an octave down pedal, like a boss OC-2.

the flashlight bass line is bernie worrell's minimoog. there is no actual bass player on that track.

You might try an electro harmonix bass microsynth to get into the ballpark but be forewarned: no pedal will really cut it

The Pollyanna(stacking -2,-1,+1) into a filter (even into the BMS's filter would do well) will get you close as well, I think it's octaves are a bit fatter and fit the tune a little better-... pretty damn close and close enough to play live I'd say. You can approximate some of the vibrato with your left hand, but still not sounding quite the same.

+1. Minimoog.

That said, try setting the muff for a darker tone.

I have had the Woolly Mammoth and dumped it for the Brown Dog. I say BD all the way, more flexible (tolerant of active bass which the WM is not), but not perfect. You can't go wrong there. I do miss the WM, but it wasn't as flexible but it did some very cool things.
