i know its common sence that he's known for using the original mutron III... but he's also known for using a ton of differnt filters..

does anyone have info on what filters/pedals he was using at what time periods? ive seen him listed as an endorser for i cant tell you how many differnt filters, and i have no doubt hes used them all. i'm just curious what filters are on what albums/time periods..

i also know he had a really complicated live rig with everything split into 3 seperate amps, or something like that.. so, i know "it cant be repruduced without doing this this and that.." but still, i'm really curious wich pedals hes actually been using live and in the studio, back then, and now..

i did a search but if i missed something like me know.

I can't believe anyone could keep track of the different gear and setups that Bootsy has used throughout the years. Not only was it enormous but always changing. Not to mention, Bootsy endorses half a billion things, some of which he'd incorporate briefly.

That said, if you want a snapshot, here's an thread discussing his setup in 1979.

Bootsy's rig, 1979

that is true, that even he probably doesent know wich pedal was on wich tour / album / song even..

so the only thing i can find is that he definately used the mutron III the most. ive been totally gassing for a vintage mutron, but all the while trying to convince myself that its not worth it...

on the Superbad soundtrack he used a DOD FX25. Aside from the Mutron, the Guyatone Ultron and the Chunk Systems Agent 00Funk would probably be your next best options.

I know he's used the DOD FX25 in the past, but I don't see any reference to him using in on Superbad, though he certainly might have. Like I said, it's almost impossible to pin down Bootsy's signal chain.

Here are the things he mentioned using on the Superbad soundtrack:

Ampeg Sub-Blaster
Guyatone Ultron
Chunk Brown Dog
Chunk 00Funk
Maxon Analog Delay (doesn't say which one)
DNA Analogic Purple Phase
ToneWorks AX3000B

Here's the link.

I have one and it's caused me to render my Mutron lll to the top shelf in my closet. Ease of usability and great sounds. Although I'm dismayed Chunk systems label my original Agent 00Funk as obsolete, I think discontinued is more appropriate.
