Boss BE-5B repairs
anyone know of an outfit or shop that would diagnose and repair an old Boss BE-5B multi-effect pedal?
My local shop wont even bother touching it - it no longer registers power although I think that's the least of its problems.
This was my favorite effect pedal and I have purchased 3 of them over the years as they wore out or were stolen. The last one on eBay went for about $90 so if I can find someone who would fix it for less I'd be very happy.
It doesn't look like Boss offers service on their products so I was wondering if there might be some other resource out there with a good reputation.
IME I've found the weak link is where the power socket joins the circuit board. I had an ME-6B and an ME-8B with the same problem. If you wiggle the power cord and get some sign of life from the unit it's probably a problem at the junction of power socket to circuit board. Other than that, I believe Boss/Roland lists authorized repair centers on their website.
