Boss AB-2 (2 Way Selector Stomp Box)

I just picked up one of these little guys and I am impressed.

It is obviously a very simple device.... it does 2 inputs with one output, or vice-versa.

Great for me as I use 2 different basses on gigs and it is much easier to keep both of them plugged in then muting my amp, unplugging, etc.

It would also work well for anyone (mostly guitards) that needs to quickly switch between 2 amps.

Not noisy at all, built like a tank and at $35 new, it is great value.

Not what I would call the most exciting "effect" out there, but it does what it is supposed to do.

Batteries

I have the same pedal, and as much as I dig it for its functionality, I hate that it runs on batteries. 2 AAA batteries power the thing and unless you unplug it, the batteries drain because of the LED's.

This has bit me in the butt 2 years in a row at a week long gig that I do during the summer. We set up everything at the beginning of the week and use it every night, and it always seems like I forget to unplug it a few nights.

Grrr...

But, great function for what it does.

I thought the AAA thing was weird. Do the batteries last long?

I could usually accidentally leave it plugged in for a few days before weird problems started happening. Luckily, the LED's start to dim when the batteries start to go.

I just feel uncomfortable about trusting batteries in the long run.
