im gonna use this with an ls-2 blended into my dry signal so im not to worried about loss of low end.

but can i get close enough to a good wah sound if i hook it up to an expression pedal? ie for some songs i wanna use it for auto wah only but id also like to use it as a wah to will this work? just saves me having two wah type pedals on my board.

I have a Jacques Trinity Wah I use for guitar. Bought it to replace my Vox V847 due to real estate. It definitely works for wah sounds but the V847 was much better sounding for that particular application.

I'm fairly sure your experience with the AW-3 won't be dissimilar. Apparently, it works quite well on the bass input

Yeah, AW-3 on the bass input sounded good low-end wise. It was a little unsatisfying as a wah, but it's sort of a personal preference thing; I'm sure someone loves it.

Hi Andy, I just bought the Aw-3 and the EV-5 expression pedal in hopes to replace buying an autowah and also a wah pedal. I'm quite happy with the aw-3 although I wish the humanizer wasn't so distorted. The one thing I'm not sure if I like is when you plug in the expression pedal it disables all the controls. You can adjust the amount of wah effect on the expression pedal but if you want to go back to auto-wah you have to unplug it. I don't think it will be a problem but it could be one more thing I have to add to my todo list during a gig between songs. If I get really good at using the wah pedal i'm sure it will be worth the slight plug/unplug inconvenience.

Hope this info helps.

Mitch
