The guitar chorus affects the entire frequency range, whereas the bass version can be set to affect only the higher frequencies. I have the bass version, and I think it sounds great. It's sort of a subtle effect, but adds a nice shimmery warble.

They sound different. Personally, I prefer the sound of the Chorus Ensemble (CE-5) to the CEB-3. I haven't tried the Super Chorus.

i use the super chorus and its great. it goes from subtle waves to crazy warbles, and if you tweak it right, you can even get a decent vibrato sound out of it

I'd like to know what that reason is...

I have never really understood why the CEB-3 doesn't get better reviews here. I'm not a fan of Boss effects in general, but think the CEB-3 sounds really nice. It's a subtle chorus, so if you are looking for a more "in your face" type warbly/wet chorus pedal...this ain't it...but if you like just a hint of subtle, shimmery chorus...this pedal does a nice job...

I tried the CE-5 and sold it after one gig...just not the sound I want from a chorus...at all.

I agree 100%. Unlike most chorus pedals, it's hard to get a bad sound out of the CEB-3. Plus you don't lose your low end, which is a Very Good Thing.
