Welcome to metal city my friend.
never mind what they do to your frets! |

Anyhow... P-bass + flatwound strings are key. Otherwise, you won't even get close.

But I'm sure the Harris flats are much kinder to both than their roundwounds...
You could cleanly decapitate an irritating bandmate with the "E" string in a Rotosound Swing Bass string set.

They sound awesome for that kind of tone (when they're fresh). They may also be a bit kinder than the Roto rounds to the fingers and frets, but NOT to the neck and truss rod.
As for the 'Arry's tone, when it comes to EQ, it can best be described as "a $#!+load of high mids".

Wrong! When I started using the Harris sig. strings... for the first month I had the most painful blister on my right middle finger. I played more than one show in pain. Luckily after the first few songs it kinda went numb. The blister went away one day and never returned. I guess my fingers are used to the roto flats.
And now I'm going back to rounds! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
