I would skip over the Enhance knob, it just adds noise and clank.

What is it exactly that you were expecting it to do?
The enhance knob is just a mid scoop, and the other three knobs control a limiter. All its going to do is smooth out your volume spikes. |

Enhance off (or wherever you want it).
Turn the ratio all the way clockwise (∞:1). Leave the threshold all the way up for now.
Then, tweak the level knob till you achieve unity gain (or whatever volume level you want).
Next, strum one of the open strings hard while you turn the threshold down. Once you reach a certain point, you will notice the volume going down. Stop when you reach the volume level you want.
Now, no matter how hard you play, this is the loudest it will get. This is basically how a limiter works |

If it didn't limit your volume spikes, you weren't using it right. Check out the FAQ linked in my sig to learn how to use it properly. |
