Boss CE 20 on bass ?

Sign in to disble this ad
'Morning,

Just reading into this twin pedal. Not a lot comment from bass players on Harmony-Central. A few guitar players mentionned a hiss (maybe related to their own gear ?).

I've got chorus on 99 % of the time and currently use the CEB-3. No gripes with that one, but would like more out of it.

Any of you guys used the CE20 ? Comments ?

I had one for a few months a couple of years ago. If chorus is a substantial part of your sound and you'd like to be able to cycle through a few different sounds on the fly then it's a good unit for the memory slots. It's fun to experiment with the different models, but I found for bass that there wasn't necessarily a lot of difference between many of them. I didn't really notice a lot of noise, but you can turn down the treble. I've actually considered getting another one.

If you want more out of your chorus in the sense that you want it to be more pronounced, I suggest you give CE-5 a try. Much more pronounced than the CEB-3, IMO.

But if you want a more versatile chorus, it wouldn't do any harm to try a CE-20.

I found the CE-20 very disappointing....having owned a few different Roland JC amps and an old CE-2 in my guitar playing past....I don't think the CE-20 sounds anything like the real thing.

To me it was a toy compared to the pedals it "emulates"....would much rather own one or two good chorus pedals for the price the CE-20 sells for.
