| I have owned both of these pedals, so I'll summarize my thoughts for you.
The CEB-3 is a pretty subtle chorus, which adds a bit of a "shimmer" to your signal, without getting to warbley or watery. I liked it quite a bit, but a lot of people around here think it is too subtle. They tend to recommend that people instead try the CE-5, which is a similar sounding chorus, but can get more extreme chorus sounds.
The Electric Mistress (which I still own) is a very different beast. It is much more of a warbly, watery chorus that has more movement, and less shimmer to it. The flanger is a great one, but be judicious with the flanger depth, anything above 1 or 2 o'clock and it starts sounding like ball bearings running down a pipe. I love being able to blend chorus and flanger in one pedal, and I dig this pedal.
Don't worry about the bass-specific stuff, I find it completely meaningless with modulation pedals, and choruses in particular. You won't lose any low-end. |
