Boss CEB broked

Hi,

I recently bought a Boss CEB 3 second hand,
Unfortunately today at band practice the switch or effect became intermittent, the LED stopped working and now when it is plugged in the amp via the A output the amp screeches.

I have opened it up and can't find any obvious problems such as broken joints.

Can anyone help me?

After some further investigation, I have found that it shrieks when the metal parts of my cable are touched.
Does that help?

Sounds like a grounding issue. Check the ground solder connections on the circuit board inside and see if any look bad.

Anyone know which wire is the grounding one, I can't find any obvious markings.
I have checked the joints and they all seem to be fine.
