Boss Chorus... Which one for Bass AND Guitar?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

As it's been increasingly difficult to find like-minded musicians in the area, i've begun recording tracks playing both bass and guitar.

It's shoegazy dream/noise-pop stuff. BUT, i actually don't like going overboard with effects. Delay, Reverb, OD, Fuzz, Distortion, Phaser, and Chorus.

I've accrued a decent set up for bass use over the past year, and most of it handles guitar stuff perfectly (rly <3 u BadMonkey + Reverb).

BUT... my boss bass chorus is just not cutting it on guitar

So, bass guys that play guitar as well... which Chorus would you choose:

-Boss Super Chorus
-Boss Chorus Ensable
-Not-Boss something-Chorus-something
-Chorruts

I have the Ensemble and like it on both. I originally had it for guitar but use it on bass too and it sounds good.

Unfortunately, i'm on a bit of a budget and relegated to stuff i can find at the used music gear shop, and Maxon stuff doesn't appear much.

So i'm looking at the common stuff; boss, digitech, dano', dod... etc...

Boss Super Chorus. Works great on both guitar and bass, even with flatwounds it still makes a nice, mellow chorus, and performs well with subtle settings too, IME.

I have little experence with other pedals, but I never missed anything about the super chorus.
