The regular is fine, too, but I like having the frequency option.

Just picked up a CEB-3 off eBay for under $55 with wall wart and free ship! Can't wait. Want it for Wednesday night's practice.

I prefer the bass version- I like it subtle. For more extreme chorus, you might want to go 'regular'.

Honestly I do not hear any difference playing with my boss chorus and without it , other than the crapy noise from the effect, not sure if I am doing something wrong

Either you're doing something wrong, or its broken, or your amp is small and low fidelity.

Among my chorus pedals is a CE-20. It's excellent on bass.

I am sure is correctly plugged and the amp is an ampeg ba115, the basses are stingray HH and lakland DJ both with TI flats, I have only tried in my room, that is with low volume. I do not have any ohter effect just a soul preacher.

I will do a double check tonight.

Here's a question about the difference between BOSS choruses made for bass and for guitar..

Since (I believe) basses in general may have a slightly hotter output than guitars, do BOSS bass choruses have a higher input level threshold than their regular guitar choruses?

I ask because I've had a CH-1 Super Chorus for years, and my bass' output (particularly the Wal) is hot enough to overdrive the input of the CH-1 and cause distortion.

Would one of the bass-specific choruses be better able to handle the hotter signal without distorting?

(I've never tried any other BOSS chorus other than the CH-1)

my first chorus pedal was the Bass Chorus - got it used for $35. It worked well, and I'd recommend it as a first chorus pedal, but I found it was way too digital sounding for my tastes, so I sold that and bought an EHX small stone. Overall I think it is a great pedal for somebody that wants to start experimenting with chorus, but isn't exactly sure what sound they want. I've never used any of boss's guitar chorus's so I can't compare, but I'd imagine the CEB-3's guitar counterparts are similar sounding - but with more high end.

I've always had the same problem when trying out the Bass Chorus on the low wattage demo gear at local shops and was always baffled by it.
