Boss DD-7 users! Is this normal?

So my guitarist just picked up a Boss DD-7. We noticed that when he uses the tap tempo function, there is a very audible clicking noise on beat with the tap. Is this designed as some sort of reference metronome? It is a design flaw? Is the pedal faulty?

Also, if this is inherent with the DD-7, can you alleviate it by using the external tap tempo switch?

ick, Don't know but I'd guess/hope it's a fault specific to your pedal. Is it only while you tap or does it stay on thge whole time you're in tap mode? Maybe you should return for another? I went for the Hardwire DL8 but I've often thought maybe the potential external tap would be better than the extra couple seconds.

The tapping is audible as long as the pedal is on.

I've never noticed anything like that with mine and I've used tap tempo both with and without the external switch.
