Boss DS-1 vs. Boss Metal Zone MT-2?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have experience A/B'ing both of these on bass? After trying both out which did you prefer? Why?

Note: Let's stay on topic. This is not a thread about the merits of OTHER distortion boxes vs. these.

MT-2 is much better suited for bass use. So is its predecesor, the HM-2 (is that straying too far from the topic?)

the DS-1 cuts low end and plenty of it, and has a strong mid-high boost that makes the lows even LESS audible

MT-2 might have a SLIGHT loss but it has powerful EQ to compensate. The HM-2 gets positively doomy: I recommend making the two tone controls point toward each other

HM-2 is my choice for boss pedals compare to MT-2 and DS-1. MT-2 i tried it and end up tradng it for HM-2.

HM-2 got massive gain. it sucks on guitar apparently and works really well for bass, i am sourcing to get another 1 for back-up.
