Boss Ds1 Mods

IF there is another post for this please link me, I did a quick search and only got reviews.

I've got a ds1 laying around and rather than sell it for $15 I'd like to attempt to Mod it and I'm looking for a good source of information.

I need to know what tools I need and what does what. I'm a complete N00b to mods.

I don't really have a sound I'm looking for but if it's possible a tubescreamer for bass I guess is the idea.

Thanks,
L.A.

Modders and Builders help me!

Fun for noise but not much else, give it a try. All I did was tape a wire down with electrical tape, works like a charm.

If you ask me this is the only DS1 mod worth doing:
http://www.robertkeeley.com/product.php?id=10

Not cheap I grant you, but totally worth it. Transforms it.

I build/mod my own pedals. It is good fun but If you have no esperience with electronics, pedal mods might not be the best place to start.

The space inside the pedal is usualy very tight and drilling holes/adding switches is quite difficult.

You may want to check diystompboxes.com. I haven't searched for DS-1 mods but I would be surprised if the you can't find anything.

Circuit bend it. I'm told that a the only really viable bend makes it sound like a pretty ragin' synth fuzz.

Also, circuit bending is going to be the absolute easiest/cheapest thing for you to do yourself.
