| Boss GEB-7 EQ - a quickie review

I just scored a Boss GEB-7 EQ on eBay over the weekend, and I've been fooling around with it since it came in yesterday. First of all, it's not a magic bullet. It won't turn your bass into something else, it won't improve your playing, won't turn your amp into a big-buck monster, won't get you a woman, won't get you a coffee, etc. What it will do is selectively boost or cut certain bass-specific frequencies, as well as boost or cut your volume level. For me, it tames a slightly-trebly G string and smooths everything out nicely. All the strings on my P have the same even tone now. Combined with my Boss LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer, my tone sounds as smooth as I can get, as smooth as Willie Weeks or James Jamerson! And, as everyone knows, it's a Boss, so, along with the cockroaches, it WILL survive World War III!
The stratovani verdict - a big fat thumbs up!
