Boss GEB-7 Mod

Sign in to disble this ad
I just found this guy who mods the Boss 7 Band graphic EQ to a lot lower frequencies. I find this rather nice.

My love for the GEB-7 has dwindled since I got back on my real bass amp and really listened to how it affects my tone. One complaint I had was the high-end treble on the pedal.

What do you guys think of this?

I can't help you too much, but I can tell you that I just picked up a Boss GEB-7 w/ CMATMOD and it was impressive. The bypass was clean and uncolored, flat was really flat, and the tone was unchanged/uncolored when on! Highly recommended if this mod that you found is close to the CMATMOD.

sounds good in theory, but isn't 34 Hz below most bass amps' effective frequency range??

EDIT well edit while typing ... i have just checked my GE-7B, which i think is the older version - it only goes as low as a 64Hz slider... boo!

i want one

It is also the fundamental frequency of a low B, hence the mod.
50 Hz is well low enough for proper EQing. I see no reason to modify a pedal that does a perfect job, as far as frequencies are concerned.
Now yeah a mod that would enhance clarity and neutrality, that would be a good thing.

Not so much amps as I understand it, but most cabs are only good down to about 45-40 Hz.
