Boss GT 10B

Hi there got this multi effects which has been a great toy to muck around with but do find u lose a lot of punch and won't cut through the band mix when using the built in presets
I like some of the individual effects and am trying to find a way of not losing my original bass tone
When u stick the pedal on tuner bypass my tone is original and I have been trying to find a way of finding that same bypass tone when not in bypass mode (so I can slowly build an effect on top of it)
For example I will randomly choose a preset and turn off all related effects including the EQ
I then do an A B sound check between this and the bypassed sound and there is still a slight loss in tone. I understand that the chA and chB noise gates stay ON but that's about it
Am I wasting my time or does anyone have any thoughts or comments regarding the GT10B tone and how to get a true bypass when u are not in bypass mode?
Cheers
Dan

IMO that tone difference is probably caused by a loss of dynamics inherent in the AD conversion method.
I got closer to the bypassed sound, when I had mine, by going into the Global EQ settings, dropping the Bass by -1 to -2 db, and boosting at 500hz by 2-3 db. Bringing out a touch more mids like that was enough, I found, to make up the difference. Start there anyway, and play around with the settings.
