Boss GT-10B Expression Pedal>>Tuner

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, I realize I will get spanked for this, but I cannot find a step-by-step explanation of how to do this. More likely, my search skills here suck, but so be it.

I am trying to assign the expression pedal to activate the tuner. When the pedal is down, the by bypass is activated and the tuner comes on. No sound from the bass gets to the amp.

I've seen some approaches to this but I am not seeing the same options on my display...or don't know how to access them.

This is where I am:

1) Press Master/Pedal FX
2) Turn wheel until "Assign" is displayed. Press Category/Enter
3) I now see the tabs and am on No.1.
4) P1-P2 Target is Tuner
5) P4 Source is EXP SW

And that's it. I saw one set of directions saying I need to change min and max values but don't see those on my display. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I don't think that can be done, as the tuner is not an effect.

Actually, you can: Activating the tuner of the Boss GT-10 / GT-8 with the exp. pedal

I just can't figure out how to get to the settings listed in the article.

Thanks to Eddy Flycatcher for sending me this one: YouTube - ‪Boss GT-10 part 2 How to, simple stuff first (putting the tuner bypass under you're EXP pedal)‬‏

I'll have to test it after work tonight.

But, does this have to be applied to every patch? Or is there a way to make it a universal setting?

Mine is set so that when you tap the selection pedal a second time, the tuner comes on and mutes the signal to the amp at the same time, but I'm at work right now, and (sorry!) can't remember how I set it up - I'll look after work and post it for you, if you like.

Regards

I have both options engaged, when I tap any selection pedal a second time, I play in bypass mode and the tuner comes on with sound, if I want to tune up without sound I lift up the expression pedal.

On the bottom of page 29 of the manual there is a "Tip" how to operate the Tuner.

Thanks Eddy. Page 29 pretty much confirmed what I had seen in other locations as well as the directions you sent me. I can get to the step where the target is set to TUNER and the source is EXP PDL. And that's where I'm at a dead end.

I don't see how to access the Min., Max, ActRngHi, and ActRngLo settings.

Attached is a screen shot of what I have so far:

You need to go into Advanced Display (or whatever it's called) Hit the "Display" button, I think, until it's a text only display - simple as that.

Moles is right! When you're in the display in the pic, hit Display Mode button and it will change to the one you want.

anyone thinks that the expression pedal on the gt-10b is fragile?

Anyone use another (external) expression here ? Or to use something external, the best choice is those boss switchers a/B?

Here's a YouTube explanation of what I'm trying to do: GT-10B Tuner with EXP Pedal - YouTube.

Next, the zillion-dollar question: Can this be applied to run on every patch, or do you have to set it patch by patch?
