Alright, I'm probably stupid for not being able to figure this out but it's really frustrating me right now. I was told in the music store by the people working there that I can turn the individual effects in a patch on and off. I can't get this to work for whatever reason. The manual says you just hit the corresponding footswitch (1-4). I step on them and nothing happens. Help..... please..... thank you.....

The effects should work now.Now you can turn each individual effect on and off. These things(GT-6 boards) are a bit complicatd at first, but pretty simple once you understand how they work. Good luck!

you can also push the FX-1 or FX-2 little button (not the pedal), the effect will appear in the display, if you push it again it will turn on or off the effect.
hope this helps... |

Some patches start with certain ones on and others off, but I can't turn them on/off after that. I'm stuck with what the patch starts off with. I can use the buttons, but not the footswitches.

I mean the buttons below the display, you should be able to turn em on/off with those buttons.
I think somethings wrong with your unit... |

I'm planning on returning the unit tomorrow.

If you can't have ANY effect on, turn to a patch then check if the FX-1/2 or Wah button is red. Then fiddle with the dial and left and right buttons to get a desirable effect.
If you're getting different patches but you can't turn individual effects of, you need to change a setting on your GT-6B. I bought mine used and it came with each pedal being a different. I don't know what you need to change, but there's one settings where each bank is a patch and each pedal is assigned one effect. Read the manual and see if that helps.
If you can't figure it out, then just adjust to having each pedal having a seperate patch. |

Patches work fine. I should be able to turn each effect on/off by the use of either the 1-4 footswitches (1 for compressor/wah, 2 for od/dist/FX1, 3 for Chorus/FX2, and 4 for Rev/Delay/SOS); you can also use the buttons (the little ones with the red dots in the middle under the display). I can use the buttons to turn on/off each effect separately, but I can't use the footswitches.
hope that clears it up a bit.
