I just bought one of these used and mint condition. This thing sounds sweet.

Just finished programming sounds I will need. Im sure I am only scratching the surface but this thing is nice.

I glad to hear you like it. Ihad one and did not care for the sounds or the fact you need to step on 2 pedals to make the tunee come up.
I guess that's why they make al kinds of pedals. I now use a ZoomB9 and like it a lot!
enjoy
Peace & Love

I'm a long time boss GT6B user and have been fairly consistently happy with it's sound and performance.

I think it's a brilliant pedal, very sturdily built and full of very useful options.

for me, playing my church every week and something from rock to funk or jazz about once a month, I find that the preamp and parametric EQ are invaluable. I always use the PEQ (parametric eq) as it has such a flexible range of frequencies, boost widths and levels that it is more flexible and powerful than most amps I come into contact with so often I'll use this for my basic tone that I wnat to play with 80% of he time and then have the preamp set up for a mid scoop or boost etc so another tone change (this also works incredibly well if you use the preamp in conjunction with fuzz or distortion, you can achieve really cool fuzz effects which you can't achieve with the fuzz effects alone this way, great for muse and pseudo synth fuzz)

The ability to create custom OD/distortion/fuzz presets is great for tailoring your effects, I have a crunchy subtle distortion and a warm fuzz set as mine, 2 effects I struggled to find in the pre-sets and effect modules.

I won't go through all the effects I use but I will say that the reverbs and choruses are great too and that in general the 6B has a huge amount of tweakable parameters in most of it's effects, although it does contain many weirder effect and abilities which I don't ever use.

The built in DI output is also extrememly useful for smaller and larger gigs alike and gives you huge control over your DI tone since you have all the effects and EQs to use on your signal, you are no longer at the control of the soundguy.

over all a great bass effect unit, far superior to the stomp boxes and smaller zoom multieffects I've used in the past.

overall a fantastic pedal which has never really let me down in over 5 years of continuous use.

I also like my GT6 a lot ... the thing is like a tank & can sound very good with a bit of tweaking.

The GT-6B is a great unit! Besides the lame amp/cabinet simulations (which I never use), there are plenty of sounds that can be saved into the preset banks.
I just listen to some sounds I recorded last month with this unit and was very pleased. I was thinking about selling it, but after that listening, I've decided to keep it.

Enjoy!

I have dialed in a killer straight to the board send using the svt simulation on this thing. Like any good pedal you have to dig in to tweek. I have never liked factory presets on any pedal out there

I got a gt6b a couple of months ago as part of a trade and planned on selling it, but haven't gotten a decent offer so I've been using it at home to practice with.

Question: how do the effects compare to the more popular stand alone boss pedals?
Particularly:
DD(which model?)
Reverb
ODB-3
Octave(oc-2,3?)
Pitch shifter

Also, I've been loving the wah.

I can only comment on the boss octaver and chorus I have used in the past. I can dial in a good simulation of those 2. I use mine basically as a to the board DI using a chorus setting or 2 and of course the tuner. I have not even scratched the surface of this things capabilities, but plan to!
