I've been getting back into playing for a while and I got a great deal on a Boss GT-6B pedal and got it to basically play around and experiment with the different effects. My question is, is there a way to set up a completely blank patch to add stuff onto? I have searched this forum so I appologize if this is a rehash, but I'd really like to start from scatch and build my own effects. Thanks for any help. |

As mentioned previously, you have a set of patches with "U" in front, which are ones you can edit and save as your own.
I honestly thought the GT-6B could have been better, but the delay, pitch shift, chorus, and vibrato effects on there were KILLER. The signature sound from one of my songs was stored on the one I sold, but I can get the same sound with a few single pedals. I'm still looking for a vibrato pedal that went as fast as the GT-6B could go though, gave it that quivering effective without sounding too "wah-wah".

i have a gt-6b now, and am annoyed that the 2 banks cant be interchanged, or that 2 fx from 1 bank cant be used simultaneously.
on my main patch, i somehow disabled the volume function for the EXP pedal, and cannot get it working again! ARGH
if you want to trade + cash, hit me up |

I did like the simplicity of the GT6b & it did everything I needed at the time. The main reason I went to the 10B is because its so damn configurable plus the effects loop & USB interface.
With the effects I use there is zero difference in the sound between the GT6B & 10B.
The 6b is still a lot of bang for the buck |

You think I should pursue a gt 10b?

You think I should pursue a gt 10b? | That all depends on what you need it to do in the end.
The effects that they share are pretty much the same but the 10b def does a lot more & the config possibilities boggle he mind.
Oh & the preamps are a lot better with the 10b if you need that. |

Thanks for any help. | Yeah - first reset the processor back to the factory resets - then crank the value knob up the user presets (U1) and then “overwrite“, name, and store your new patches in the user presets. |

I basically turned everything off and wrote the patch as blank, and it had allowed me to play around with the different effects. I'd be interested to hear some recommendations for setting custom patches. In my defense I won't be back on for a week or two due to having surgery on my back tomorrow morning. Thanks for the input.

it will help to visualize the effects and setup layout, get familiar with the assigns controls, as this is the functional heart of the GT pedals.

I can't stand trying to make patches hunched over my amp and pedal board...play a note, turn a knob, repeat ad infinitum. This makes it much easier! Now I just gotta find my MIDI cables. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
