Boss GT-6B users; I need you opinion!

I normally don't use much effects but I have some money to burn and I recently started to think about getting some to broaden my horizon. I was almost set to get the Boss stuff (bass chorus, flanger, reverb&delay and perhaps bass overdrive and or blues overdrive) but an opportunity come up to get a GT-6B 2nd hand at less than the total price of these stomp boxes.

So the question is, how well GT-6B does Boss' own stuff? I can get it somewhat cheaper but if that means I'll lose something I'll probably pass. Also I am not interested in the amp/cab sims since I am happy using my RBI.

Hi there,
I think you will do just fine with the GT6B. It simulates/emulates Boss' pedals quite well. I thought the Bass Overdrive sim was dead on although I'm sure others will disagree. Plus you get noise reduction, tuner, compressors you name it it has it. You will just need to be patient and tweak tweak tweak. The only reason I sold mine was that I am currently not using any effects. That might change though.Hope this helps,
B

Don't know if it simulates well...and don't care!

I love my GT6-B. I've never sat down to compare between the effects and the pedals it's modeling, though. You can look through these threads and find at least one person who loves and one person who hates almost every pedal in existance. For me, the only question is, "Can I get a sound I like from it?" Maybe the unit might not make your bass sound exactly like it would through a Boss Chorus pedal, but I'd be stunned if you couldn't create a sound that you love with what they give you. The main weakness in the lower end multi-effects gear is a lack of paramaters you can tweak, but there's certainly no shortage here. I'll be exploring my GT6-B for years, and every new sound leads to seven new songs! If you can get one cheap, do it!

BTW, has anyone tried to combine this with an Aphex Aural Xciter? Just wondering what the results might be...
