Boss GT6-B Problem with Tuner on/off

Boss GT6-B The Tuner will not switch on in the usual method in Patch mode. (Patch up/down pressed together.) However if I go to manual mode, (i.e. stomp box mode) works perfect ! Any suggestions ?

I would restoring to factory settings to see if that did it. If not then here's Boss customer support:
