Question boss gt6b ???????????? HELP

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone I am a newbie here so please be gentle. Anyways I got my BOSS GT6-B today and have had a really long fiddle around with it and I can pretty much do everything apart from the main thing I wanted to do.

How do you program user patch's into a bank and use pedals 1-4 to change the patch's rather than the patch scroller. I just need banks of patches that I can change from 1-4 because at the moment it is only letting me turn on and off compression, reverb, chorus etc. Can I store my user settings into the induvidual patches in a bank so I can change them between 1-4 rather than just changing the values of effects.

Many thanks

I had one for a while- a cool pedal. I don't think you'll be able to do exactly what you ask for. But, and especially since you mention up to 4 patches, you should check out tweaking the bank extent parameter on page 60 of the manual (http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl...3/GT-6B_e3.pdf) and limit the patch selection to just one bank (4 patches). With this, you are never more than two presses on the 'up' or 'down' switches from the right patch.

Another option would be an external midi controller.

I don't think you'll be able to do that with the GT-6B. This is set up up like four pedals...not like presets.

Aghh, thought I was banging my head against a brick wall. So you cant create a user bank and have your 4 different patches to change during a song on the 4 patches??? Or can you just change your patches using the up/down scroller on the top of the pedal? I thought you could literally make 4 patches and store them in a bank of 1-4 and control them from there, or as stated would you need a midi controller to do that for you. cheers

I found this:

This means you either use mode#1 where the full row is used to switch individual FX on and off within a patch, but that means you're left with going up/down sequentially thru the patches with the 'bank' pedals. Alternatively in mode#2 the full row takes you directly to different patches in a bank, but then if you wanna add delay to your current sound, forget it.

You should be able to do this. I've never used a multi-effect that can't.

MODE 2...there it is. Sounds like this is what you want to use. I stand corrected from a sitting position.

Right - this was one of the first things I did on mine - follow the instructions on page 61 of your user manual

"Setting the Timing Used for Switching Patches (Patch Change Mode)"

Go in and Select 'Wait for Num'

What this means is, you select the bank by using bank up and bank down, but the unit won't change until you select one of the 4 patches in the bank.

I hope that I've understood your question correctly - otherwise this answer won't mean much!!
