Question BOSS GT6B as stompboxes

I have just picked up a GT6B and am not interested in the presets I just want to use it as stompboxes for
comp
chorus or flanger
reverb/delay
wah wah on the pedal

but I dont seem to be able to set up a blank soundscape to add the stomp effects to just like a string of pedal

please help

Set up the input and output levels to match the same volume you would have when running your bass straight into the amp.

I have the guitar version, and a lot of people told me that the global output volume setting should be no higher than 81.

Then, bypass EVERYTHING - all the preamps, compression, etc.

Then work from there and see if that helps.

If you figure it out let me know. I`ve tried to do that for about two years now and have given up. The manual is usueless when it comes to this.

This is the easiest thing in the world to do. Set it to MANUAL, and follow my instructions.

It's not hard. The boss GT series are the simplest units out there.

I wouldn't call it simple at all, it took me almost half an hour to figure it out. But you're right about how to do it, and once I had bypassed everything and set the levels for unity gain, it was a piece of cake assigning specific effects to specific footswitches.
