Has anyone tried it?

I play "blackened crust" metal. Cheesy, I know. But thats the best way to describe it

It's the core bass sound for godflesh if that helps
A savage fuzz with lots of bottom end available. I have 3!

Godflesh will always be one of me favorites.

It's also the core bass sound for Entombed (but with gain all the way up and less bass dialed in than treble).

HM-2 is great for bass. As for blackened crust, itīll probably fit your needs very well.

I had one for a bit.... sounds better with bass than guitar imo. I blended it though to maintain more bottom end and punch... fun to know others are still using The Sweedish Chainsaw!

^ HM-2 seems to be regaining popularity nowadays, not just with swedish death metal worshippers. It was my first pedal when I played guitar when I was I kid and when I picked up bass a few years ago I noticed I'm lucky to still have it.

To me, the HM2 sounds best with gain at 9, t@9, and b@3-max. Instant Fleshiness.

i use it all knobs go full and blend it with a LS-2 to hold some not definition, sounds massive but too much feedback. so get a noise reducing type pedal to tame it. sounds really good

i play grindcore and black metal ;p
