Boss Loop Pedal _ I like to play with myself

Sign in to disble this ad
Play with myself on the bass and guitar that is. I just got a used Boss Loop Station RC-20XL, and am having a blast jamming along with myself. I lay down a bass line to repeat, and then put the bass down and pick up the guitar. Wallah, 20 minute space jam. I'm digg'n it. Playing along on the guitar, I can see where I need improvement on my bass playing. Have to figure out how to get the drum beat in line.

i owe a lot of my chops to a boss RC-20XL. that was also the beggining of my understanding of home recording- i used to use that thing to overdub drums, bass, guitar, ext ext. never got good results, but learned a lot.

the "reverse" function is sweet on that one too. its so easy to use.. really a great pedal. looping chords and playing the groove under it is nice to practice, too.

I really miss my RC-20xl. I never played a lot of leads until I got it. My current looper/delay only does 8 seconds, which is plenty of delay but not much loop.

+1 to groooove

I picked up an RC-50 a year after picking up the bass, and my timing, knowledge of the fretboard, etc improved significantly in a short amount of time. It is much more fun to play to something than just noodling alone, and the ability to record ideas quickly is nice to have.

they are good also for playing a repeated part thru a pedal to dial in sounds. sometimes i can't play and turn knobs at the same time as well.

I've got the RC-2 and really dig it. It works great as a practice tool, or even for capturing ideas... using it in a live setting is another thing though. My drummer drifts a bit when he plays making it all but impossible to keep a riff synced up!

Also jamming all the features into the single pedal size makes it a bit difficult to operate on the fly. Still, great little unit though!
