Boss LS-2... Awesome!!

This pedal showed up on my doorstep this morning and I've only been able to play around for a few hours so far but I'm loving it already! Just though I'd share this for anyone that might be interested

Main reason I got it was to be able to blend in some clean signal with my Octavius Squeezer, especially when using patches that have a high resonance and not a lot of bottom end. It does this perfectly.

Here's a few other things I tried...

I had the OS in one loop and an FX25 filter in the other and it's really cool to have an up-sweeping filter and a down-sweeping filter blended or...

The FX25 blended with a slow sweeping synth. Can be interesting to have two filters sweeping in the same direction but opening and closing at different speeds.

I put a Line FM4 filter first in line and ran stereo outs - one into the FX25, one into the OS - then blended them together using the LS-2. Found some very cools sounds with this set up.

Tried a similar thing with a DL4 delay modeller. Having stereo outs into the two filter pedals was awesome with a panning ping pong delay. The initial note goes through both filters (left and right) but the repeats bounce back and forth between the two filters. Again, very cool if they are sweeping in different directions or one is clean filter, the other a fuzzy synth.

There are some really interesting things that can be done with parallel signal chains, especially if you have pedals that can run in stereo. When I get an envelope filter with an effects loop, I'd like to try putting my the signal through the second channel on my ModFactor.

I will see what I can do about putting up some clips tomorrow morning.

If I ever decide to go with a bigger board and more pedals, I can definitely see an LS-2 in my future. Great tool.

The LS-2 is highly underrated. I want one, but I still need a host of other pedals (and a job) before I get one.

Good job with the stereo setup,...a use I hadn't though of.

I couldn't hardly do without parallel signals now. I have a HOG in one path and a BMS in the other and I get alot of great multi-instrument type sounds.

If you can make it through my awful vocals (I have no shame) then you can hear how handy it is. All the sounds come from a Peavey Patriot into my board, and there was only ever one instrument track.

It's not with an LS-2, but it does show how freaking awesome parallel signals are.

EDIT::: Unfortunately most of the awesomeness comes after the 2:00 mark.

this pedal blends two differnt effects loops, right? if i had a fuzz in one loop and a filter in another, for example- would this be similar to the sound of bass - signal splitter - chain A into fuzz-amp, chain B into filter-amp?

i was never completely clear on this, but im under the impression thats what it does? (one of the many things it does, atleast.)

It will do an "A + B mix" along with a bunch of other things

Check It

yea, I love mine

blending, easy master volume control, and a quick way to bypass all effects are all welcome additions to my board.
