Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion Clip

click on audio then demo for bass. Sounds like some gritty distortion, very nice sounding to me. It has a bottom control and intended for 7-string guitars.

man... i really dont trust the boss soundclips though. ive NEVER got my old odb-3 to sound like they did... and they gave out the settings

Yeah, that soundclip is way overproduced. Not saying the MD-2 isn't good, but I don't trust that clip as far as I can throw it.

It's actually pretty close to what the MD-2 sounds like on bass, actually. Just add a little hiss and you're there!

from the sound of the guitar clip, everything was recorded extremely loud on GOOD amps. so that bass is probably from a cranked tube amp

I know the sound is produced, but would you guys say this is a good sounding distortion for bass and compares to a Turbo Rat in terms of gain and crunch.

It's been so long since I owned an MD-2... I don't even remember what it sounds like.

I just remember it being noisy.
