Go try one. If you like it, buy it.

Don't know to much about the quality of the sounds, but there is a demo on the Boss website if you go and find it.

As for build quality, Boss stuff is usually built like a tank, so there shouldn't be any problems there.

I don't know why boss made this pedal to be honest.

It appears to be marketed as a less comprehensive product than the ME50B which in my opinion was pretty eloquent to begin with.

They have also pitched it with a price thats just about under what the 50 goes for when on special (in ozzz at least)

there may be some upgrades in terms of sound when it comes to comparisons between the 20 and the 50.

but that confuses me further, seeing as they've labelled it a lower number than the previous model.

just my 2c

and yes, i have realised i havent actually helped at all

Jack of all trades

I'd say that if you're a beginner and you want to see and experiment with what types of filters, and distortions do to your bass go for it. it's a fairly inexpensive tool to learn on.

but if you're being paid to record and perform your instrument, you'd be better suited to begin building a pedal board one pedal at time, because dedicated pedals will always sound better than jack or all trade king of none items.

I'm not getting paid or anything, and I don't have enough money to buy a lot of seperate pedals, but I'm gigging and I need overdrive, octave, chorus, etc. Is there another multi-effects below $300 thats worth geting?
