Boss ME-6B power supply

I just picked up a Boss ME-6B Multiple Effects unit at a yard sale (for only $3!)

Thing is, the dude I bought it from didn't have the power supply that goes with it. On the back of the unit, it says it takes a 12V AC supply and to "Use Boss BRA adapter only." I know that some of boss's effects processors require pretty specific power supply units. I have a generic 12V AC adapter lying around but I don't want to hook it up in fear that it will fry the pedal.

Does anybody know if this particular boss pedal DOES require something specific from boss, or will any old adapter work?
