Boss ME-6B SYNTH HELP NEEDED!

Sign in to disble this ad
After reading many times that Stuart Zender used the ME-6B and ME-8B, I had to get one, so I bought one on ebay. After about a month, I can't get any decent synth tones, and the synth tones Zender had were more than decent to say the least. His tone in Light Years is ideal. from 7:45 on in this video is what I want (http://youtube.com/watch?v=3Mdj8gnJKEY). What settings can I use on the synth bass part can I use? HELP!

I think someone posted some settings for it on the SZC forums. Might want to search around there.

i used to have it, and the sad truth is that the synth sucks

the 6b was really good for distortions auto wah flang/phaser
decent for compression and preamps

my advice is try to get a synthy distortion with an extreme noise gate / compression, because the synth patch isnt going to get anything of good quality out of it. can also try dialing in an octave or something

The reason I bought this was because many people said the synths were amazing, Stuart Zender even used it for synths. But I agree that the synths arent very good.

I have a GT6B I'm assuming its the same synth and I can vouch saying that boss synths suck!

I think what Jaebee was suggesting is that Zender never used the synth pathes but created his synth "like" tones using a combination of other effects in the me-6B. I believe in the studio he actually used combinations of analog pedals to get his sounds. The me-6B was just what he used live. I could be wrong though.

That makes sense, it's the ME-6B, not the GT-6B for clarification.
