boss oc 2 / oc 3
 

Hey evrybody
I have been exploring for awhile a lot of bass octavers and i really got into the boss oc2.
Just wanna know what is the difference between the oc2 and the oc3, and if those pedals sounds different or kind of the same pedal. thank you

They're different. The OC-3 is digital, the OC-2 is analogue. There's an OC-2 mode on the OC-3 but it doesn't sound as fat IMHO.

They sound noticeably different. If you get an OC-3, try the Guitar input, use POLY mode and turn down the range to 11:00-12:00. That will octave anything up to about the 12th fret on the G string and nothing above that. So you can slap and only the fundamentals get octaved. I wouldn't even bother with the OC-2 mode on the OC-3. It's okay, I guess, but definitely not an OC-2 clone tone wise.

OC-3 tracks better, OC-2 sounds warmer.
