I just got one of these, and while it's hella fun to play up high and pretend to be Pino on "Tear Your Playhouse Down . ." I'm mainly using it on one or two songs in a set to mimic where some big synth comes in on the recording (the keyboard players hands will be a bit tied up right there
It seems like "Poly" mode is really the only game in town on this thing, huh? If I just use it in the standard mode, it's quite wobbly, especially with anything that's not totally stacatto. So, that's cool. Poly seems to be OK. I'm mostly just thumping 8th notes when I have it on BTW.
Now, so far I've only had it in use at a fairly quiet practice(small amps). Seems like anything lower than maybe Bb it just can't handle too well--starts sounding not so great. Or maybe when we're rocking through the big PA, those low octaves will sound better/tighter? Does anyone use theirs (set to one octave below) BELOW Bb with success? maybe I just haven't been able to test it through the necessary firepower . . .
