You can't search the forum for OC-2, but if you scroll back a few pages you'll find lots of opinions on it. It's generally a very well-liked pedal. |

It is pretty much a one trick pony.
3 Knobs on it.
Clean Signal is just that.
One octave down is very synth sounding. Kind of a hollow organ type tone. Not organic at all, but still warm. Works best in higher range and worthless below a low C. Tracking is good along as you play clean.
Octave two pretty much only good for glitchy type stuff.

It's best to keep the length of the note short, or the octave drops off. Works good with busy funk lines. |

I think the problem is that if you DON'T have the clean blended in, the octave gets a bit indistinct down there... but it still tracks clean for me.
I really feel like the OC2 is it's own instrument... you have to play very cleanly and deliberately, but it rewards you with awesome fat synthy tone.

Search and find. | All true, but I will point out that niftydog has been banging the OC-2 for at least as long as I've been a TB member. Quote:

At least not one for significantly less and certainly not one that sounds nearly as good. Quote:

the verse bass sound is just OC2, with OCT1 on full, everything else off. the 'B' sections are probably some sounds from that Ibanez thingy, and also heavily processed in post...
shameless self promotion....

Im not looking for anything complicated, just something that sounds good. | Depending on the size of your town, they should pop on craigslist fairly often. thegearpage.com classifieds is another good one, they usually have at least one a week pop up for $40-60.
There is also an 'Arion MOC-1' that is supposed to be an OC-2 clone, though I haven't heard a good enough clip of it to be able to tell exactly how similar it is. I've seen them for $25+. There's one for $26 on ebay right now, but it's in Japan, so $20 shipping. I'm going to grab the next cheap one I pop up to see what it's all about.
I just missed out on a an mij oc-2 octaver on harmony central by a few minutes the other day, and the seller said that he had a regular taiwan OC2 that he was thinking about selling as well. He wanted $60 for the Octaver, so I'd imagine that he would sell the other OC2 for $40 or $50. If you're really looking for one outside of ebay, PM me, and I'll get the guys contact info and pass it along.
